Orthez

The historic town of Orthez is situated in the South West of France, convenient for both Pau and Biarritz airports (click here to take a look at the official Orthez website).

Every tuesday, there is a local market. This is a major weekly event, and the local roads are closed due to the size and popularity of the market. Fetes d'Orthez is a major festival held every July ( this year 25th-31st ) with lots of traditional music, entertainment, bull fighting, concerts, eating and drinking in friendly and welcoming atmosphere until the early hours of the morning!!!

Orthez has a good range of shops and facilities, a tourist information office and traditional bull ring. The river Pau flows through the town and encourages various water activities.

Being a traditional French town there is much to see, the buildings and architecture are fascinating with a huge diversity of ages and styles.
