Mobile Holiday Home - St Pee Sur Nivelle

Set on a well presented, tranquil and well maintained site in the heart of the Basque country in South West France this mobile home makes an inexpensive base to explore the many delights of France and Spain.

It comprises 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin, a good sized lounge including pull out bed , kitchenette, a shower room and a seperate toilet and your own parking space beside the 11 square metre patio. The fully fitted kitchen area is equiped with a refrigerator with freezer compartment, a four -ringed gas hob and microwave oven. The gas instanteous heater supplies plenty of hot water.

Towels/bedding are supplied with a compliementary Welcome Basket to await you on your arrival and to ease you in gently for your stay in Number 12.

The Mobile Home is sitted at St-Pee-Sur-Nivelle on the Basque coast between the sea and the mountains and can accomodate up to 6 people. The 1.98 hectares site provides mobile home emplacements, swimming pool, games area (with table tennis, petanque alley, see saw, swings and sand pit) TV room with WIFI access, shower and washroom blocks, Reception and just in the village a hotel bar with gourmande restaurant and pelote wall to burn off that extra slice of Foie Gras!!

This is an area that will suit most holidaymakers requirements, from the outdoor activity life around the 12 hectare lake, to the costal beach resorts or to playing on one of the 7 golf courses in the area. the culture seeker can enjoy the museums, art galleries @ Bayonne and Biarritz and for those that require a little healthy pampering there are several Thalassotherapie and health centers in the vincinity.

Out And About - Places to See and Things To Do

St-Pee-Sur-Nivelle www.saint-pee-sur-nivelle.com has approx. 4000 inhabitants and its oldest buildings date from the 13 th century with pelote matches, Basque strong man events, walking, Fetes and Choir contests all being held through the year. Lac St-Pee is a 12 hectare activity lake with a beach, pedalos, tobbogan flume, diving boards, picnic areas, tennis, swimming and restaurants to spend a lot of enjoyable days there. Fishing is very popular on the grade 1 listed Lac ( which is the best grade within a 30 km radius) with courses (from march-september)being run for up to 16th year olds, juinor courses and normal fishing as well. Bayonne and Biarritz are located only 36 and 24 kms away, being traditional Basque with a proud hertiage, culuture, world wide famous fetes, international Pelota tournoi's,golf courses, rugby, museums, surfing and singing they are also 2 more beautiful costal towns to vist;

Sare www.sare.fr is nationally listed as one of only 40 "most beautifull villages in France" only 6 kms away with markets every thursday throughout july/august with a Pottok fete ( Pottok is a small Basque horse) and the prehistoric caves of Sare open all year apart from january www.grottesdesare.fr The mountain little train from La Rhune www.rhune.com ascends on a rocky railway taking 35 minutes breath taking views and is open from march-mid november and is 4 kms away from Sare.

12 kms from Number 12 is the Basque working port of St Jean de Luz, www.saint-jean-de-luz.com where there are plenty of festivals celebrating all that is fishy ranging from fish stew fete, tuna fete and in september whale race hunting boats called Trainières go head to head in races against each other. there are also lots of shops, restaurants and a long winding beach that goes along the bay to the next town, Ciboure.

Espelette www.espelette.com 12 kms away is the town of the red chilli pepper which is used extensively in Basque cuisine, is very hot and celebrated with its own fete in october. Espelette is not just a one trick chilli though, as it also has a 14th century castle, St-Etienne church with a bell tower and a renaissance porch and a Baroque retable.
