For whose interested in bird watching, the Pyrenees offers a wide range of birds of prey as well as many other species. Arret et Aller is on the migration route for many birds such as Storks flying from Holland/Germany to North Africa, making a spectular sight forming a V shape across the sky, their calls sounding for miles around. Sometimes they get lost, circle around and then continue on their way. Brillant!
Pau is nearby and has a lovely shopping center, along with a picturesque river running through the town. Pau airport is on the outskirts and it takes approximately 30 minutes to drive there from Arret et Aller, mainly on a very straight road.
Most roads in France are very quiet and driving is easy. There are tolls are on most of the major roads, so it is a good idea to keep some change handy in the car. They toll booths are very easy to use and usually have the required amount printed on the outside of the booth as you approach.
Travelling from Santander in Spain to Arret et Aller takes around 3 hours and 30 minutes winding along the north coast and through the Spanish hills. The journey is very picturesque and once out of Santander the roads are generally quiet. The signs are easily seen for Bilbao, Donostia San Sebastian, Irun then signs into France Biarritz (E-70 E-80 E-5 or A63) then A64 Pau- Toulouse sign ( exit 9 ) This motorway will bring you 10 minutes from Arret et Aller, by following the N117 signs.
At Arret et Aller we are happy to accepts pets. With the new pet passport making it easier for dogs to come to France ( having 2 dogs ourselves ) we recognize that some people will want to bring their pets on holiday. We have 2 acres of land, so plenty to run around on. Pet passports have to be done 6 months before you travel otherwise the dog wont be able to return to the UK.
The two airports nearby are Pau and Biarritz both going from Stanstead. Cars can be hired from these airports, but people without transport can be collected from the airport for the fee of 30 euros from Pau and 50 euros from Biarritz.

Arret et Aller have a lovely patio'ed outside eating area which is in the sun all day and offers stunning views right down to the Pyrenees in the distance. In addition we also have a swimming pool, football pitch and play area within our 2 acres.
