Arret et Aller - A beautiful farmhouse set in tranquil surroundings with friendly and attentive hosts - the ideal base for a holiday in South West France

Cycling Holidays

Orthez and the surrounding region offers fantastic riding for both on and off road enthusiasts.

For the roadies the local area has many flat plains ideal for time trialling and flat out training, yet this landscape is punctuated by some punishing climbs, and of course the Pyrenees are close enough to offer a true challenge.

Could you ride to the Tour De Franc classic Col de Madeleine, conquer the climb, and back in a day (a total ride of approximately 75 miles) ? Or perhaps we could give you a lift to the base of the climb and a be there for you to give you a much needed car ride back to base afterwards.......

The area is steeped in Tour de France history with the traditional start/finish town of Pau just a 15 minute drive away.

In 2012 the Tour will have a rest day at Pau on the 17th July, with lots of Tour action in the lead up to, and after the race passes though. Our accommodation provides a superb base to view what will be the superb days of racing as the Tour heads into the Pyenees for the first time in 2012, http://www.letour.fr

For the mountain biker, Orthez has some superb off road trails available, from fireroad style cruising to singletrack descents. However, just an hours drive takes you into the heart of the Pyrenees with all that true mountain biking has to offer. From lung busting climbing to adrenaline pumping singletrack downhill, all of your MTB desires can be answered in this sensational corner of France.

Arret et Aller offers the perfect base from which to explore the riding in South West France with comfortable rooms to suit every budget and a biker friendly environment. Our hospitality combined with the local riding will make for a holiday experience to remember.
